The version given account of above that was retold by David-Neel is referred to East Tibet, the other Tibetan version published by the missionary Francke in Calcutta is referred to West Tibet. Francke accompanied his edition of the Tibetan text published in a few editions with a brief account of the contents in the English and German languages. The Tibetan text was was written in the Ladak dialect.
Prevailing in the Ladak version is the fantastic element: the origin of the Earth including Geser’s motherland is accounted for by the primitive myths telling of the magic transformations of the grain kept by an old man in a barn into worms that turned into some animals which in their turn transformed in a wonderful boy killing some monster from the body of which there created is the earth. There is no sequence of the events in this version: the story is not only fantastic but it is also fragmentary.
